Decorating of the Trees / 12noon / St.Thomas Heritage Centre / Come see local island artists decorate the trees in the gardens of St.Thomas Heritage Centre.
New String Quartets for Ryde / 7.30pm / St.Thomas Heritage Centre / The ‘Ryde Arts Festival Quartet’ will be playing newly composed pieces for string quartet by local composers. The concert will feature the first performance of a new piece by Gareth Balch, whose first large-scale symphonic work received warm reviews on its premier by the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra last season.
HOMEGROWN II / 11am-7pm / The Depozitory, Nelson Street / The surreal disused basement of a former Wesleyan chapel plays host to a two week residency by 4 contemporary artists to create an immersive environment. Lisa Traxler, Adrienne Wroath and Steven Sales will collaboratively create a 3D imagined landscape from paper and fabric whilst sound artist Ergo Phizmiz will form an accompanying audio soundscape.
